Trump Secures Halt to Iran Executions of Female Protesters After Direct Appeal

Here’s something you don’t see every day—real leadership making an immediate difference on the world stage.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Iran will no longer execute eight women tied to anti-regime protests, following his direct appeal just a day earlier. According to Trump, four of the women will be released immediately, while the remaining four will serve one-month prison sentences instead of facing death. Not a bad outcome, especially considering where things were headed.
“Very good news!” Trump shared on Truth Social, making it clear that the situation had taken a dramatic turn. And it did—fast.
The president had publicly urged Iranian leaders to release the women ahead of negotiations, suggesting it would be a strong gesture of goodwill. “Please do them no harm!” he wrote, adding that such a move would be “a great start” to discussions. Turns out, that kind of pressure still works when it comes from someone who knows how to negotiate.
Of course, Iran’s judiciary rushed to push back, claiming the women were never actually facing execution in the first place—blaming “fake news.” Convenient timing, right? Especially when reports from human rights groups indicated that at least one of the women, identified as Bita Hemmati, had indeed been scheduled for execution. But sure, just a misunderstanding… happens all the time.
Hemmati was reportedly involved in January’s uprising, along with others accused of actions like throwing objects from rooftops and engaging in anti-regime activities. Another woman, Mahboubeh Shabani, was accused of assisting injured protesters. Some reports even suggest that individuals involved could be as young as 16.
Regardless of the back-and-forth, the result speaks for itself: no executions.
This development also comes as Trump confirmed an extension of a two-week ceasefire and ongoing negotiations with Iran—once again showing that strong leadership and clear messaging can shift outcomes, even in the most complicated situations.
While others debate and delay, Trump acted—and eight lives were spared. That’s not just diplomacy; that’s results.
