U.S. and Britain to Sign Landmark Nuclear Agreement: Trump Leads a “Golden Age” of Energy

LONDON – President Donald Trump is heading to Britain this week, and he isn’t just bringing the usual pomp of a state visit—he’s bringing a deal that could reshape the future of energy on both sides of the Atlantic. The United States and the United Kingdom are set to sign the Atlantic Partnership for Advanced Nuclear Energy, a historic agreement that promises to launch Britain into what Prime Minister Keir Starmer is already calling a “golden age of nuclear.”

“This landmark U.K.-U.S. nuclear partnership’s not just about powering our homes, it’s about powering our economy, our communities, and our ambition,” Starmer said Sunday, promising lower energy bills for households and thousands of new jobs. Translation: while Europe flirts with unreliable windmills and solar panels, Trump’s America is leading a nuclear renaissance that actually delivers.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright couldn’t have put it better: “Today’s commercial deals set up a framework to unleash commercial access in both the U.S. and U.K., enhancing global energy security, strengthening U.S. energy dominance and securing nuclear supply chains across the Atlantic.” In other words, the era of dependence on foreign adversaries for energy is over. Under Trump, America is exporting not just oil and gas, but leadership.

The deal will slash the licensing time for new nuclear plants in half—down to just two years. That’s the kind of efficiency the Left says is impossible. Among the first big projects: a $54 billion partnership between U.S. reactor maker X-energy and Britain’s Centrica to build up to 12 advanced modular reactors in Hartlepool. This is real infrastructure, real jobs, and real clean power—not the “Green New Deal” fantasy where everything runs on unicorn dust and taxpayer subsidies.

The announcement also builds on prior collaborations, like Rolls-Royce’s partnership with America’s BWX Technologies. Rolls-Royce praised the agreement, noting that nuclear is “critical to the energy resilience and security of both nations.” Exactly—because while China and Russia are racing to dominate global nuclear supply chains, Trump is making sure the West stays ahead.

Britain’s nuclear industry has already added 11,000 jobs this year, employing nearly 100,000 people total. Tom Greatrex of the Nuclear Industry Association said the agreement represents nothing less than an “industrial revival.” And he’s right—nuclear isn’t just about keeping the lights on, it’s about reviving manufacturing, securing independence, and fueling prosperity.

Here’s the takeaway: under Trump, America is once again leading the free world—not with weakness, but with strength. This agreement proves that when the U.S. partners with allies on innovation and security, the results are transformative. And while critics will whine, families in both America and Britain will soon enjoy lower bills, more jobs, and a safer, stronger future.

Now that’s what Making America Great Again looks like—exporting strength, security, and prosperity across the globe.
