In the closing days before Virginians head to the polls, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears isn’t backing down — and she’s not sugarcoating anything either. Her message is crystal clear: it’s time to bring back common sense.
“We’re going to win because we’re the ones with the common-sense ideas,” Earle-Sears told The Daily Wire in a fiery, no-nonsense interview. “We’re going to keep taxes low, protect our communities, and move Virginia forward. My opponent has already said she’s going to raise taxes — and make Virginia a sanctuary state.”
That opponent, former Democrat Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, has spent her campaign desperately trying to brand herself as a “moderate.” But Earle-Sears isn’t buying it — and neither should Virginians.
“Spanberger has already voted to keep the borders open and give sanctuary to criminals who are here illegally,” Earle-Sears said. “Democrats like Spanberger aren’t keeping us safe. Virginians just want peace, security, and the right to live freely — but the Left only tolerates you if you agree with them.”
And that’s the heart of it: Democrats preach tolerance but practice control.
Earle-Sears didn’t hold back when she pointed out the disturbing state of the Democrat ticket. “We cannot have Abigail Spanberger, Jay Jones, and Ghazala Hashmi as our three top leaders,” she warned.
Her concerns aren’t unfounded. Jay Jones, the Democrat nominee for attorney general, made national headlines after texts surfaced from 2022 where he fantasized about murdering a Republican opponent — and even the opponent’s children.
“Here you have a man running for political office who once advocated the murder of his opponent and his opponent’s two small children,” Earle-Sears said in disbelief. “Who is this man, Jay Jones? Is that what we want in America?”
And as for Spanberger? She’s refused to condemn Jones — a move Earle-Sears calls “politically cunning.”
“At first, I thought she was just cowardly,” the lieutenant governor said. “But now I see — it’s not cowardice. It’s ambition. She wants control. She wants power. And she won’t say what’s right because she’s too busy calculating what helps her career.”
Despite the media’s best attempts to sell Spanberger as the inevitable winner, Earle-Sears insists the race is much closer than they’re admitting. “The media has used lying polls that come straight from the Democrats,” she said. “They said I was down 20 points, yet we have video of Spanberger telling her supporters it’s a toss-up. The one time I want the media to believe her, they don’t.”
The contrast couldn’t be starker. While Spanberger clings to the support of former President Barack Obama, who swooped into Virginia over the weekend, Earle-Sears has the full backing of President Donald J. Trump, who plans to host a virtual rally in her honor.
Obama urged Virginians to vote for Spanberger, claiming she “cares about your freedoms.” Ironically, that’s the same Spanberger who supports open borders, higher taxes, and sanctuary protections for criminals — because nothing says “freedom” like government dependency and chaos in the streets.
Earle-Sears, meanwhile, offers something refreshingly rare: gratitude and perspective. “I’m an immigrant from Jamaica,” she said. “America isn’t perfect, but it’s the best we’ve got — and it’s worth fighting for.”
That’s the kind of leadership that built this country — not the rage-fueled politics of the radical Left.
As Virginia stands on the edge of a historic election, Earle-Sears’ message is both simple and profound: Faith, family, freedom, and common sense still matter. And if she’s right — and the polls are wrong — it’ll be that same common sense that wins the day.
