Biden Allies Worry About Fatigue as Cancer Battle Continues

Friends of Joe Biden are quietly voicing concern about his condition as he continues treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to new reports. While aides insist he is doing well, others close to him have noticed increased tiredness — which, shockingly, tends to happen when someone is fighting stage 4 cancer.

The Washington Post reported that four friends who have spoken with Biden in recent months said they were not given formal updates about his health, but they observed that over the past several weeks he has at times appeared more fatigued. They attributed this to the toll of both the illness and its treatment.

One person, however, offered a more upbeat take, telling the outlet that Biden remains active, engaged, and “encouraged and positive” about his prognosis, citing what they described as a good response to treatment. Aides echoed that message, saying the 83-year-old is still working on his memoir and preparing for public appearances.

Biden is scheduled to travel to South Carolina on Feb. 27 to mark the sixth anniversary of his primary victory there — because nothing says “still in the game” like commemorating political wins from years ago.

In 2025, Biden’s office announced he had been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to the bone, a form doctors consider incurable. The cancer carried a Gleason score of 9, meaning it is among the most aggressive and more likely to spread rapidly, particularly to the spine.

His team said in October 2025 that he was undergoing radiation treatment at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, in addition to hormone therapy taken in pill form. On Oct. 20, 2025, Biden rang the ceremonial bell after completing radiation, a moment his daughter Ashley described as a small celebration in his fight against the disease.

He also underwent surgery in September 2025 to remove several skin cancer lesions from his head. Despite these health challenges, Biden has continued to appear at major events and remain publicly active.

While friends express concern about his fatigue, his team maintains that he is pressing forward — and for now, the message from those around him is that he intends to keep showing up, proving once again that even serious illness hasn’t stopped him from staying in the spotlight.
