Burnham's Border Betrayal: 10,000 Illegal Migrants Flood Britain Since Left-Wing Power Grab

Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s short tenure has already witnessed a staggering surge in illegal immigration, with over 10,000 illegal boat migrants reportedly breaching Britain’s borders since he seized power in a Westminster palace coup in July. This relentless tide, averaging nearly 100 illegal arrivals daily, paints a clear picture of a nation under siege and a government either unwilling or unable to defend its own sovereignty.

GB News analysis reveals that 10,139 migrants have successfully landed on UK shores after illegally crossing the English Channel from France under Burnham’s watch. This daily average of 97.5 illegal boat migrants surpasses the records of his Conservative predecessors, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, and Rishi Sunak, dismantling any pretense of a more effective approach. Even former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who presided over 77,183 illegal arrivals, had a slightly higher daily average of 103.6, setting a low bar that Burnham has barely cleared.

Despite the damning figures, the Labour government has attempted to spin the crisis, claiming success by citing a reduction in Channel arrivals over the previous year. They point to 22,608 crossings this year compared to 36,954 at the same point last year. Such selective statistics, however, conveniently ignore the broader truth.

Since the left-wing party came to power in 2024, an astonishing 87,259 illegal boat migrants have been allowed into the country. This figure stands in stark contrast to the 127,896 arrivals recorded during the entire preceding six years of Conservative governance, exposing Labour's "progress" as little more than statistical sleight of hand.

The financial burden on British taxpayers from this open-door policy is immense. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage starkly highlighted economists' estimates that each illegal migrant will cost British taxpayers a staggering £330,000 over their lifetime. "Over 1,200 illegal migrants have broken into Britain since Thursday," Farage noted. "So, our lack of borders since Thursday will cost us roughly around £396 million."

This economic drain is coupled with a grave national security threat. Reform UK’s Shadow Home Secretary, Zia Yusuf, underscored the urgency of the situation, noting that the recent influx of over 1,200 "mostly young male illegals in just the past four days represented over a battalion’s worth of military-age men arriving on our beaches." Yusuf chillingly warned that the government "has no idea if terrorists or other violent actors are among their ranks."

Yusuf reiterated Reform UK's unwavering pledge to deport all illegals allowed in by previous administrations and to deploy the Royal Navy to the English Channel, ensuring "not one more makes it to our shores." This common-sense approach stands as a direct challenge to the current government's failed policies.

In a statement that offered little solace, a Home Office spokesman claimed "progress tackling the small boats" and noted "the lowest number of summer arrivals since 2020." While acknowledging "joint efforts with international partners have prevented over 50,000 crossing attempts," the spokesman admitted, "But we must go further," a tacit admission of ongoing failure amidst a crisis that threatens the fabric of the nation.

Britain deserves a government committed to its national security and the protection of its citizens, not one that presides over an escalating border crisis and then attempts to spin the numbers. The path forward is clear: secure borders, enforce immigration laws, and prioritize the well-being of the nation over globalist agendas.
