Liberal Firewall Cracks: Prominent Democrat Operative Concedes Ilhan Omar Fraud Claims 'Almost Certainly True'

A long-standing liberal defense of Rep. Ilhan Omar is crumbling, with a prominent Minnesota Democrat now admitting the legitimacy of federal probes into the progressive congresswoman's personal finances and immigration history. This pivotal moment signals a major shift as mounting scandals and investigations against Omar gain undeniable traction.

Joe Radinovich, a former Minnesota state representative and a well-connected operative within the state's Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) establishment, publicly declared his belief that the core allegations against Omar hold water. Radinovich, who has deep ties to Minneapolis's political scene, did not mince words when discussing the claims that Omar married her brother as part of an alleged fraudulent immigration scheme.

"Democrats should understand that the allegation is almost certainly true—whatever conclusion they draw from that point could vary—and her denials calling it a right-wing, Islamophobic or racist conspiracy are almost certainly not," Radinovich posted on X. This is a stunning admission from within the Democratic ranks, directly contradicting Omar's consistent narrative.

Radinovich further warned that the investigation into Omar's finances also presents serious problems. "And then I’d be very, very careful about how I qualified on allegations around her finances—where her defense looks similar and where no meaningful questions have been answered publicly, and where any objective look at the evidence doesn’t look…great," he added, highlighting the lack of transparency surrounding her financial dealings.

The pushback was swift but ultimately futile. Briana Rose Lee, a Minneapolis DFL activist who previously served as an operations director for Omar's campaign, dismissed Radinovich's candid assessment as a "witch hunt." "Joe. You aren’t stupid," Lee wrote. "You know this is a baseless and manufactured witch hunt. I’m actually surprised to see this from you. It’s a new low."

But Radinovich stood firm, refusing to retreat from the facts. "You’re right," he retorted, "I’m not stupid. I believe the Trump DOJ has next to no credibility and that it’s unclear to me the timing of the raid was appropriate—though it’s notable a DC judge signed off on it—but I’m pretty confident this specific allegation is true." His attempt to inject a partisan caveat about the Trump DOJ ultimately serves only to underscore the strength of the evidence, even in his own estimation.

This isn't merely a fringe conservative talking point; the scrutiny surrounding Omar’s legal issues has expanded well beyond the MAGA base. Even traditionally liberal outlets like the New York Times, MSNBC, NBC News, and The Associated Press have reported on the accumulating evidence suggesting Omar’s marriage and citizenship may have been fraudulent. While no criminal charges have been filed, the walls of denial are clearly cracking.

The factual timeline further exposes the depth of the issues. Omar's Washington, D.C., home was raided by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on October 12, 2026. HSI, the primary investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, seized her passport, phone, and computer during the early-morning operation. Investigators are reportedly in possession of Omar's DNA, and her sister, Sahra Noor, voluntarily submitted to questioning shortly after the raid, citing a "family emergency" that conveniently interrupted her book tour.

Sources have confirmed that the raid stems from an investigation into whether Omar or her late father, Nur Mohamed, fraudulently completed her citizenship paperwork decades ago. This probe could lead to the congresswoman's denaturalization, a consequence that would send shockwaves through the progressive establishment.

Questions about Omar allegedly marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in a fraudulent immigration scheme have plagued her for a decade. Court filings from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of Columbia have even referred to Omar as "Ilhan Omar Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Omar," strongly suggesting a shared surname with the man she married in 2009. Sources also indicate that "Ilhan Omar" may not even be the Somali-born congresswoman's true name.

Omar's narrative of a "political vendetta" by President Donald Trump is directly undermined by the fact that former President Barack Obama's administration initiated a probe into the allegedly fraudulent marriage back in 2016. That investigation remained open until 2021, only to be closed by the Biden administration, reportedly due to the belief that the statute of limitations had passed. This timeline reveals a concerning pattern of political convenience.

Omar's campaign, predictably, resorted to personal attacks, calling Radinovich a "deeply troubled individual" with an "irrational obsession." Such ad hominem attacks only serve to highlight the desperation as the truth begins to surface.

This latest development underscores a crucial reality: the truth about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s alleged immigration and financial improprieties is becoming impossible for even her own party to ignore. Americans deserve accountability, transparency, and leaders who uphold the rule of law. The integrity of our immigration system and the public trust demand nothing less than a full and unvarnished reckoning, regardless of political affiliation.
