A Bulgarian migrant has been found guilty in a case that drew widespread attention across the United Kingdom after video footage from an incident involving a group of children in Dundee, Scotland circulated online.

The case centered on an encounter in August 2025 in which a 13-year-old girl was seen holding an axe and knife while another child was heard shouting for a man to stay away. According to reporting, the incident followed alleged sexually explicit remarks directed at the children.

Following court proceedings, 22-year-old Ilia Belov and his 20-year-old sister Nadjedzha Belova were found guilty in connection with the case.

The story attracted major public attention not only because of the footage itself but also because of the public reaction that followed. Critics argued that early official messaging and public commentary focused heavily on discouraging discussion and warning against misinformation.
