Democrats have never been shy about dramatic predictions — but Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., took things to a whole new level on Sunday. During an appearance on CNN, Moulton claimed that President Donald Trump might soon begin to “murder” Americans, because apparently the word “restraint” does not exist in certain political vocabularies.
Moulton, now running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, argued that the administration’s actions against narcoterrorists in international waters could eventually be used against Americans at home. A bold theory, considering we’re talking about drug traffickers moving fentanyl and other lethal drugs toward the U.S., not soccer moms in suburbia.
“The President of the United States and his secretary of Defense are conducting murder on the high seas,” Moulton said. “They’re committing murder and Americans should care.”
He added that if action is taken against unknown criminal traffickers “off the coast of America,” eventually Trump might do the “same kind of thing to people we do know right here at home.” Quite the leap — even by CNN Sunday standards.
The administration has designated major South American cartels as terrorist organizations and deployed around 15,000 troops to the Caribbean Sea to crack down on narcoterrorists. The U.S. military has destroyed roughly two dozen boats and submarines carrying illicit drugs — which, for most Americans, sounds more like national security than “murder.”
But Democrats escalated their attacks after a Washington Post report last month claimed that War Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a “kill them all” order related to survivors of a destroyed drug-running vessel. Top military officials rejected the allegation. Adm. Mitch Bradley testified in a closed congressional hearing that Hegseth never gave such an order.
In one September incident at the center of Democrats’ war-crimes narrative, Bradley said he made the call for a follow-up strike, determining the vessel still posed a threat. Imagine that — a military commander making a tactical decision based on actual risk. Shocking.
Democrats are now pushing to release the classified video of the strike. Sen. Tom Cotton, who has seen it, said on NBC News that he has “no problem” with making it public as long as national security is protected.
Cotton added that the Department of War may have legitimate concerns about exposing intelligence sources, methods, or insights into cartel tactics. He said he trusts Secretary Hegseth to determine whether the video can be declassified safely, noting that there is “nothing remarkable” on it anyway.
Once again, Democrats are predicting the end of civilization because President Trump is enforcing laws, taking on narcoterrorists, and stopping deadly drugs before they reach American communities. And if defending Americans from fentanyl-running cartels counts as “murder” in Washington these days, that probably says more about the critics than it does about the Commander-in-Chief.
At least the truth continues to come out — and that’s always something to feel good about.
