Even in the radicalized halls of the Democrat Party, some truths are too stark to ignore. Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett delivered a bracing dose of reality to primary rival James Talarico this week, openly questioning his ability to win the upcoming U.S. Senate race. Her blunt assessment cuts through the media's eager narrative of a competitive contest, revealing the deep cracks within the Democrat coalition.

In an interview, Crockett dismissed the recent flurry of polls attempting to portray Talarico as a serious contender against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton. In a move that prioritizes raw political calculation over party unity, Crockett stated plainly that she "watches money."

"When I look at the money, if Republicans start spending money in Texas, then I'll be convinced. But right now, national Republicans decided they wanted to dump money into North Carolina, as well as Georgia. That's where they're fighting, and national Democrats have not decided to dump money into Texas either… I look at: where does the NRSC stand? Where does DSCC stand? Right now, neither one are investing, which tells me that their internals are saying the same thing," Crockett told NBC News.

This candid admission speaks volumes. Despite a handful of public polls — including one from Fox News and others from partisan outfits — suggesting Talarico might be within striking distance, the lack of national party investment signals that the seasoned strategists aren't buying the hype. It’s almost as if they realize a self-proclaimed radical with extreme views doesn’t play well in a state built on common sense and conservative values.

Crockett’s skepticism comes as Talarico, whose campaign is already burdened by controversies, struggles to connect with key voter blocs. He has drawn significant backlash for his fringe views on Christianity, his public affection for transgender children, and a rather alarming disdain for the American flag. These are not the hallmarks of a candidate poised to win over traditional Texans.

Further complicating Talarico's longshot bid is his apparent failure to energize black voters, a critical component of any Democrat's statewide strategy. Following what Crockett controversially labeled a "racist race" in her own primary loss, she has consistently rebuffed calls from fellow Democrats to campaign for Talarico.

"I won't get on the ground to really start to feel it until maybe end of September, October, as I start to dig into which races I'm going to help out in, the races that I really feel like we can win," she stated, clearly not placing Talarico's race in that category.

Adding to the chorus of concern, Texas State Rep. Jolanda Jones, another Democrat, warned that Talarico’s campaign is heading for disaster. "Do I think that Talarico’s refusal thus far to engage black electeds and the black infrastructure has put him at a disadvantage? Absolutely, because there’s not a lot of time to try to rally us," Jones explained. "Talarico needs to pay for us to get our voters out. Only then does Talarico have a chance to win. If he continues to do what he has been doing, I believe Talarico is going to lose."

This internal Democrat strife and the candid assessments from within their own ranks expose the fundamental weakness of a candidate attempting to push a radical, anti-American agenda in a staunchly conservative state. While the corporate media may try to manufacture a nail-biter, the reality on the ground, even according to Democrats themselves, paints a very different picture: one where common sense and American values ultimately prevail over politically correct extremism.
