A Democratic Party official in Arizona has resigned from his party post and lost his job after joining a mob that targeted two girls accused of posing for photos with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Yes, this is what “tolerance” looked like in real time.
Mark Holodnak, who served as treasurer for the Democratic Party Executive Committee for Arizona’s Legislative District 12, was caught on video shouting at the girls as a group chased them through a parking lot. The mob accused the girls of taking pictures with ICE agents. That offense, apparently, earned them a public verbal attack.
“You little fcking cnts!” Holodnak screamed as the girls hurried away and shut a gate behind them. Another woman in the group added commentary of her own, saying, “And that’s what happens when you support racist motherf*ckers.” So much for civil discourse.
After the video surfaced online, outrage spread quickly and calls for Holodnak to be fired followed. When reporter R.C. Maxwell tried to confront him, Holodnak ran off instead of defending his behavior. Maxwell called after him, asking whether screaming at women and calling them obscene names made him right. Courage, it seems, has limits.
Holodnak’s employer, HomeSmart, responded by cutting ties with him. In a statement, the company said it was aware of the incident and that his actions were unacceptable and did not reflect its values. The company confirmed that Holodnak is no longer affiliated with HomeSmart.
Holodnak also resigned as treasurer of the LD12 Executive Committee. The Arizona Democratic Party did not respond to requests for comment.
In a statement to the Arizona Republic, Holodnak said he regretted how he expressed himself and claimed the words did not reflect his values or intentions. He apologized to the two girls and said he did not want his behavior to reflect on the work of the district committee, announcing his immediate resignation.
The confrontation followed ICE raids on multiple locations of Zipps Sports Grill as part of what federal prosecutors described as a months-long criminal investigation. Homeland Security Investigations arrested nearly three dozen illegal aliens across 14 locations. Authorities said the case involved federal law violations including unlawful employment of aliens, identity theft, and document fraud.
Protesters surrounded the area as the warrants were carried out. Democratic Rep. Yassamin Ansari and Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs criticized the Trump administration over the operation.
So let’s review: federal agents enforce the law, a mob attacks teenage girls for allegedly posing with them, and a Democratic official gets caught screaming obscene insults on camera. Then comes the apology tour.
The result is simple and fair—Holodnak lost both his party role and his job. Accountability still exists, even when politics try to drown it out. And the bigger picture remains clear: enforcing immigration law is not a crime, but harassment and mob behavior certainly should never be the standard. At the end of the day, respect for law and order beats screaming in a parking lot—and that’s a win for common sense.
