Hunter Biden is a corrupt con artist who used his father’s position to leverage the government and make himself millions.
Now that Joe Biden has been pushed aside, officials are allowed to admit this, and the New York Times is allowed to report it.
It’s rotten, unscrupulous, cynical hypocrisy.
Emails reveal that Hunter, while his father was vice president, wrote a letter to the US ambassador to Italy, asking for introductions to help the Ukraine gas company Burisma land a lucrative contract with Italy.
That’s why Burisma was paying Hunter $1 million a year to sit on its board.
Not for his energy expertise or work ethic — he had none, and was, by his own admission, an irresponsible crack addict — but that his last name on an email could make the State Department stand at attention.
This is incredibly unethical, and Democrats and the media know it.
But for four years they have pretended that the Hunter Biden scandal didn’t exist, that it’s all just conservatives whimpering.
The administration tried to hide the Italian emails, but get this: The Times knew it was holding back because it didn’t include emails from Hunter’s laptop!
The same laptop that got the New York Post banned from Twitter, and was attacked by the rest of the press as fake.
Irony is not dead.
How convenient, then, that these messages surface only after Biden the Elder has been forced into the retirement home, and the media can claim “it doesn’t matter.”
But it always mattered. The Italian Job is another piece of the puzzle, but let’s be clear: This isn’t a new scandal.
It’s well known that Hunter was lobbying for Ukraine at the same time his father’s portfolio included the country, that he put his father on the phone with his clients and brought him to dinners.
Every time some new tidbit would leak out, Dems would move the goalposts.
Joe Biden “never spoke to his son about business.”
When that didn’t fly, “Joe Biden never helped his son.”
When that turned out to be false, “Joe Biden never profited from Hunter’s business.”
But that’s a lie, too, because Hunter’s income benefited his entire family, as bank records show.
The Biden Company did just fine.
What these new revelations do prove, however, is that the government is still going easy on Hunter Biden.
That his tax evasion and gun charges don’t also include a violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act is a travesty, and special counsel David Weiss needs to reopen that investigation.
Meanwhile, voters should consider how this was all covered, hidden and dismissed, and how the same thing is happening now with Kamala Harris.
Don’t do interviews, don’t answer questions, censor criticism as “misinformation.”
They have no shame.
