The state of Florida announced that it has launched an investigation over complaints that were made about an alleged sexually explicit performance that was marketed toward children earlier this month.
The popular conservative Twitter account Libs of TikTok tweeted on December 21: “The same group who put on an extremely graphic ‘family-friendly’ drag show which featured simulated sex acts, exposed buttholes, and oversized fake exposed breasts is performing this show in Florida on Monday.”
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) responded to the event in a statement it released Tuesday afternoon.
“The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is aware of multiple complaints about a sexually explicit performance marketed to children held in Fort Lauderdale on December 26th,” the statement said. “The Department is actively investigating this matter, including video footage and photographs from the event. DPBR will, like in other cases, take action.”
“Exposing children to sexually explicit activity is a crime in Florida, and such action violates the Department’s licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license,” the statement continued. “The Department will share any collected evidence with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for potential criminal liability.”
The department said that it launches these types of investigations based on tips that it receives from the public.

The founder of Libs of TikTok, Chaya Raichik, revealed her face publicly for the first time during a recent interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Raichik said that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis offered her support after she was doxxed following a hit piece from The Washington Post.
When asked by Carlson if anyone reached out to her after the hit piece, she responded, “I will say this, when I was doxxed, someone from Ron DeSantis’ team called me.”
“She said, ‘The governor wanted me to give you a message. He said if you don’t feel safe — or — you or your family, if you need a place to go, to hide, to stay, you can come to the governor’s mansion,” Raichik said. “She said, ‘We have a guest house for you, and you can come and stay as long as you need.’”

Raichik then responded to political commentator David Reaboi on Twitter after Reaboi posted the clip and wrote: “Goes without saying that this wasn’t something he did for the cameras or to generate a news story—and it surely would’ve been one at the time. Had Chaya not mentioned it, nobody would’ve known about this.”
“Yup exactly,” she responded. “Genuinely a kind incredible person.”
