A battle for Texas District 34 is heating up, with Republican challenger Eric Flores pulling no punches against incumbent Democrat Rep. Vicente Gonzalez. Flores, speaking out during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily, starkly accused Gonzalez of championing the "woke left trans agenda" and being a career politician detached from the values of South Texas.
Once considered a Democrat stronghold, redistricting has dramatically shifted Texas District 34 into a vulnerable tossup, transforming from a +7 Democrat leaning to a +3 Republican advantage. This newfound vulnerability sets the stage for a critical contest where Gonzalez’s record will be under intense scrutiny.
Flores minced no words in his assessment of the ten-year incumbent: "He’s been there 10 years, and he’s been, you know, quite a bit of work. I don’t know anybody that can keep a job for, you know — [he] missed over 220 days of work. He’s been completely ineffective. Ten years, passed one piece of legislation just to rename a post office." Flores pointed out the sheer absurdity of such a negligible legislative record.
But the criticisms didn’t stop at absenteeism and ineffectiveness. The Republican challenger highlighted Gonzalez’s embrace of radical progressive causes. "He is just pro-choice. I mean, I could go on and on. You know, voted to allow taxpayer-funded sex changes for minors," Flores stated, underscoring positions that directly clash with the conservative bedrock of the district.
Adding insult to injury for constituents, Flores revealed that Gonzalez has even gone so far as to call far-left figures like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) "patriots." Apparently, the Democrat establishment believes a decade of ineffectiveness and pushing extreme social agendas is somehow patriotic.
Gonzalez, according to Flores, attempts to disguise his radicalism by calling himself "the right kind of Democrat." Flores scoffed at this attempt at moderation: "I mean, because he knows his party is so just terrible. I mean, they became a party of communists and socialists. So you know, in a nutshell, that’s who he is, and he’s just run a political charade, just getting rich… He’s in Congress. He’s got to get the hell out of Washington."
The Republican’s sharp critique extended to Gonzalez’s staunch support for the ever-expanding LGBTQ+ agenda, indicating it’s a core component of his legislative approach. "He’s on that equality contest, and I’m pretty sure there’s ten letters that follow after that. You know, that also has grown substantially, but that’s who he is. But you know he votes votes the far-left woke agenda," Flores explained.
Flores passionately reminded listeners that this radical agenda stands in stark opposition to the deeply held values of faith, family, and freedom cherished by the people of South Texas. Gonzalez’s attempts to portray himself as a moderate are, in Flores’s view, nothing more than a desperate "political charade" designed to mislead voters.
The choice for Texas District 34 could not be clearer: a representative committed to America First principles and common sense, or an entrenched D.C. politician who prioritizes the radical left’s woke agenda over the needs and values of his own constituents. It's time for accountability, and Flores is making sure voters see the stark contrast.
