Here We Go Again: Maryland Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Key Trump Administration Official

The left loves tossing around the word “fascist” like it’s candy, constantly comparing President Trump and his administration to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. So, naturally, it’s no shock that political violence keeps escalating. We’ve already seen two attempts on Trump’s life and the brutal assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk. But apparently, that wasn’t enough for the outrage machine.

Over the summer, an apparently disturbed individual showed up at the Virginia home of Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought wearing gloves, sunglasses, a surgical mask, and a backpack. That’s not exactly the uniform of someone stopping by for lemonade. It’s eerily similar to the man who went to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house in 2022 with the intent to kill him.

And just for extra flavor, Kamala Harris decided this week to demonize Project 2025 — which is nothing more than a Heritage Foundation policy blueprint, not a secret lair for supervillains — during her awkward “comeback announcement.” As reported by RedState’s Nick Arama, this kind of overheated rhetoric doesn’t just vanish into the internet. People notice it. Some of them take it very seriously. And some of them are clearly unhinged.

Vought is a central figure in Trump’s second-term administration, wielding influence over personnel, budgeting, and economic strategy. Because of that role — and because he regularly receives threats — he is protected by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Thankfully, Vought was not harmed. But the contrast is impossible to ignore: Charlie Kirk was murdered, and others have narrowly escaped. The left’s nonstop demonization campaign has whipped the most unstable individuals into a frenzy, the same kind of chaos seen regularly in places like Minneapolis.

The good news is that this latest attack failed, and the target is safe. The better news is that Americans are waking up to where this kind of dangerous rhetoric leads. Strong leadership, clear accountability, and respect for law and order remain the path forward — and that’s exactly what keeps the country moving in the right direction.
