Homan: Trump Administration Launches Full-Scale Investigation into Somali Visa Fraud

Former ICE Director and current border czar Tom Homan told Newsmax on Monday that the Trump administration is launching an extensive investigation into visa fraud within Minnesota’s Somali community — a move prompted by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s recent guidance that 50% of visas in Minnesota are fraudulent. Yes, you read that right. Half. But sure, tell us again how everything was “perfectly fine” under Biden.

Homan said the administration has ordered a full-scale crackdown to identify illegal entrants, criminals, national security threats, and anyone who slipped into the country through improperly vetted visa programs — something that, unfortunately, became all too common under the previous administration’s generously lenient screening processes.

“We're going to look at all of them,” Homan told Rob Schmitt Tonight.
And he meant all of them — including those here illegally, individuals here on visas who are committing crimes, and anyone posing a public safety or national security risk.

A major focus, Homan emphasized, will be on migrants who came through what he bluntly described as Biden-era “weak processes” that failed to properly vet applicants or require adequate documentation.

“Those who came through a process that weren't properly vetted — didn't provide documentation, who slipped through Biden's weak processes on giving visas ... we're going the whole gamut,” he said. “President [Donald] Trump has instructed us to go down, and we're going to deep dive all of this, and we're going to hold people accountable.”

Translation: the free pass is over — accountability is back in style.

And according to Homan, Americans should expect results.

“Yes, there are going to be multiple deportations coming. Absolutely,” he said.

Homan also highlighted the administration’s renewed insistence on assimilation and self-sufficiency, which are legal requirements for certain visa categories. Funny how those requirements mysteriously didn’t seem to matter much in recent years.

“When they come here under [a] legal program, they're required to be self-sufficient,” he said. “A lot of them, the first thing they do when they get here is get on the public dole. President Trump put his foot down.”

Homan didn’t hold back when dismissing accusations that the enforcement effort targets immigrants based on race or ethnicity — an accusation that gets thrown around so reflexively it probably needs its own loyalty card.

“I'm so tired of them pulling the race card all the time,” he said, noting that ICE has arrested people from “180 different countries — Europe, Asia, South America.”

Immigration law, he stressed, “is colorblind.”

What matters, he said, is simple:
Are they following immigration law? Are they here legally? Did they break the law?

Clear rules, strong enforcement, and a commitment to national security — exactly what America needs, and exactly what President Trump is delivering once again.
