INTERCEPTED COMMUNICATIONS RAISE ALARM THAT IRAN MAY HAVE ACTIVATED TERRORIST SLEEPER CELLS New intelligence

New intelligence reports are raising serious concerns inside U.S. law enforcement after intercepted communications suggested that Iran may be attempting to activate terrorist sleeper cells around the world — including potentially inside the United States.

According to a federal law enforcement alert circulated Monday, officials intercepted encrypted communications believed to have originated in Iran. The transmission may serve as what investigators described as an “operational trigger” meant to activate sleeper assets operating outside the country.

The alert, reviewed by federal authorities, referenced preliminary signals analysis indicating that the message likely came from Iranian sources and was transmitted across multiple countries.

The timing of the communication has drawn particular attention.

Officials say the transmission was relayed shortly after the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on February 28.

Iran has long been recognized as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, funding and directing extremist groups across the globe. Even as the regime faces mounting military pressure from the United States and Israel during the ongoing campaign known as Operation Epic Fury, its global terror network remains active.

That reality has long been one of the greatest concerns for security agencies.

Sleeper cells and lone-wolf attackers present one of the most difficult threats for law enforcement to detect and prevent. Unlike organized terrorist groups operating openly overseas, sleeper agents may remain hidden for years before being activated.

In other words, the danger is not always visible until it is too late — which is exactly why intelligence agencies treat signals like this with extreme urgency.

While the reported communication does not confirm that attacks are imminent, officials believe it could represent an attempt by Iran to mobilize operatives in response to the loss of its top leader.

Retaliation was always considered a possibility after the strike that eliminated Khamenei. The Iranian regime has historically relied on proxy groups and covert networks to carry out revenge operations when its leadership is threatened.

Still, the alert also underscores the reality that U.S. intelligence and security agencies remain vigilant and actively monitoring these threats.

American law enforcement has decades of experience confronting terrorist networks, and the rapid detection of suspicious communications shows that those monitoring systems are working.

The Iranian regime may attempt intimidation through covert networks and sleeper agents, but the United States has repeatedly proven that it has the capability, the resolve, and the resources to confront those threats head-on and keep the country secure.
