Iran Threatens "Powerful Assault" on U.S. Interests if Nuclear Sites Are Hit

Iran’s top joint military command warned Tuesday that any American strike on its nuclear facilities or other sensitive targets would trigger a “powerful assault” against U.S. interests and those of its allies throughout the region.

The statement was issued by Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the command responsible for coordinating Iran’s armed forces. Iranian state media reported the threat, which also claimed any such attack would expand the conflict across the Middle East.

The remarks come shortly after President Donald Trump indicated the U.S. would likely target the Pickaxe Mountain area — linked to Iran’s nuclear activities — “probably pretty soon.”

This latest escalation in rhetoric reflects the regime’s growing anxiety as pressure mounts from sustained U.S. operations. With American forces already enforcing a blockade and conducting repeated strikes, Tehran is once again resorting to threats in hopes of deterring further action against its most protected assets.

The coming days will show whether these warnings are more bluster or a sign of genuine desperation.
