The Illegal Voting Fallacy Exposed: 18 Noncitizens Indicted in North Carolina as the Left’s Favorite Myth Crumbles

RALEIGH, NC – For years, the corporate media and progressive open-border activists have tried to sell the American public a very specific, comforting fairy tale: that noncitizens voting in our elections is a wild, right-wing conspiracy theory that "rarely ever happens."

Tell that to the federal grand juries in North Carolina.

In yet another reminder that reality has a nasty habit of punching holes in leftist talking points, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that 18 noncitizens, including illegal aliens, have been slapped with federal indictments for illegally casting ballots during the 2024 elections. That brings the total number of individuals charged in the Tar Heel State this year alone for illegal voting to 30.

Across the state’s Eastern, Middle, and Western federal judicial districts, prosecutors detailed how defendants allegedly lied on voter registration and authorization forms, falsely claiming U.S. citizenship just to manipulate American democratic outcomes. Among those caught in the sweep are foreign nationals residing across Charlotte and surrounding counties who decided that our election laws simply didn't apply to them.

These recent filings are part of a broader, aggressive nationwide enforcement push by the Justice Department that has already secured charges against roughly 160 noncitizens for illegal voting and registration offenses.

Yet, whenever conservatives demand basic common-sense safeguards—like proof-of-citizenship requirements or rigorous voter roll cleanups—the left throws a tantrum, insisting that protecting the ballot box is somehow voter suppression.

When foreign nationals can quietly bypass federal law, cast illegal ballots, and shrug off our borders, the sanctity of the vote isn't a theoretical debate—it's a national security priority. Because of course noncitizen voting keeps happening, no matter how many times Washington's ruling class pretends it doesn't. Restoring faith in our elections starts with ensuring that the only people deciding America's future are actual American citizens.
