Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has been discharged from a rehabilitation facility, returning home to continue his recovery after a fall at his Kentucky residence in mid-June that led to his hospitalization. This update comes as the veteran lawmaker signals his intent to remain actively involved in Senate affairs, even as he focuses on his health.

"Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine and I are grateful for the many well-wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I’ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff," McConnell stated, referencing his wife, Elaine Chao. A testament to his resolve, the Kentucky Senator expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support.

While the Senate is in its upcoming state work period, McConnell confirmed he will remain at home, adhering to an intensive regimen of physical therapy. This commitment underscores his dedication to public service, even through personal challenges.

"On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business," he affirmed.
