Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear Monday night that delaying action against Iran would have meant surrendering the future battlefield entirely.
Speaking on Hannity, Netanyahu explained that Iran had begun constructing new underground facilities designed to shield its ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs from any future strikes. These sites, he said, would have made Iran’s weapons systems effectively “immune” within months. In other words, they weren’t building sandcastles — they were building bunkers.
Netanyahu said Iran had already been hit in past efforts targeting its nuclear and missile programs, but instead of backing down, the regime doubled down. “They’re unreformable,” he stated, describing Tehran as fanatically committed to its goal of destroying America and its allies. Rather than learning a lesson, Iran began building new hardened sites to protect its most dangerous weapons projects.
According to Netanyahu, allowing that construction to continue would have created a scenario where Iran could directly threaten and blackmail the United States, Israel, and anyone in between. If action had not been taken immediately, he warned, no action would have been possible later. That window was closing fast.
Netanyahu credited Donald J. Trump for having the resolve to act when others might hesitate. He emphasized that the U.S.-Israel alliance is now stronger than ever and that both nations understood the urgency of stopping Iran before it reached a point of military invulnerability.
Had the operation been delayed, Netanyahu said, the Iranian regime would have gained lasting protection from future strikes, putting the entire region — and potentially the world — at risk.
The message from Jerusalem was simple: this was not about timing for convenience, but timing for survival. Acting now prevented Iran from locking itself behind concrete and steel forever — and ensured that free nations still have a chance to stop threats before they become unstoppable.
