The Pentagon on Tuesday officially confirmed the death of a fourth American soldier killed in an enemy attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. He had initially been listed as missing following the July 17 strike. The Department of Defense updated his status to Duty Status-Whereabouts Unknown and believed deceased. The incident remains under investigation.

Rampersad’s death brings the confirmed U.S. fatalities from the attack to four. The Pentagon had previously identified Sgt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pfc. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas, as killed in the same incident. A separate attack in Iraq claimed another American service member. The total number of U.S. troops killed in the ongoing conflict with Iran now stands at 18.

The losses come as U.S. Central Command continues launching fresh strikes against Iranian targets, part of a sustained campaign to degrade the regime’s military capabilities and protect regional stability.

These brave service members paid the ultimate price while defending American interests against Iranian aggression and its proxies. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
