Police Respond to Swatting Call at Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s Home

Police responded Wednesday night to a swatting incident targeting Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, marking the latest security scare involving a prominent conservative public figure.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:02 p.m. to the Virginia residence of the Supreme Court justice after authorities received a call through the department’s non-emergency line.

When officers arrived at the home, they coordinated with Barrett’s security detail, who quickly determined that the report was false.

Police later confirmed the incident was “fictitious,” effectively exposing the call as another apparent swatting attempt — a dangerous tactic where false emergency reports are used to trigger aggressive law enforcement responses at someone’s residence.

The incident immediately raised renewed concerns about escalating threats and harassment directed at conservative officials, judges, and public figures in today’s increasingly hostile political environment.

Swatting cases have become a growing issue nationwide, with critics warning that the tactic creates serious risks not only for the intended target but also for law enforcement officers responding to potentially fabricated emergencies.

Supporters of Barrett and other conservative figures argue that political intimidation against right-leaning officials has intensified in recent years, particularly following major Supreme Court decisions and heightened political polarization.

And naturally, the people who spend every day lecturing America about “protecting democracy” somehow keep ending up connected to mobs, harassment campaigns, and fake emergency calls targeting judges they disagree with politically. Quite the coincidence.

Justice Barrett, appointed to the Supreme Court by President Donald Trump, has frequently been the focus of criticism from progressive activists since joining the court.

Fortunately, authorities determined the threat was not credible before the situation escalated further. But the incident serves as yet another reminder of the dangerous atmosphere surrounding high-profile political and judicial figures in America today.

As investigations continue into swatting incidents nationwide, many conservatives are calling for harsher penalties and stronger protections for public officials targeted by politically motivated intimidation tactics.
