U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Israel next week to hold talks focused on Iran, according to a statement released Friday by the State Department.
Rubio is scheduled to be in Israel from March 2 to March 3 as the United States continues to position a large military presence in the region amid rising tensions with Tehran.
In addition to Iran, Rubio will address other regional priorities during his visit, including Lebanon and President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, the State Department said.
The trip comes as Washington signals increased diplomatic and military engagement in the Middle East, with Iran remaining at the center of security discussions between U.S. and Israeli officials.
