Shock Poll Reveals Alarming Number of Young Americans Endorse Sharia Law, Raising Alarm Over Woke Indoctrination and Border Policies

A deeply disturbing new poll reveals a significant portion of young Americans are not only open to, but actively support, the implementation of Sharia law as a legal code within their communities. This isn't just a concerning statistic; it's a flashing red light signaling a profound disconnect from the foundational principles that define our nation.

Released by Our Republic and Rasmussen, the survey indicates a shocking one-quarter of 18-35 year-old voters would endorse a town, city, or even an entire state adopting Sharia law if a majority of residents desired it. Drilling down further, an alarming 43 percent of voters aged 18-24 and 39 percent of those 25-29 hold a "mostly or somewhat positive opinion" of Sharia -- a chilling figure compared to the mere 21 percent of likely voters overall.

What drives such a radical departure from American liberty? Justin Haskins, president of Our Republic, points squarely to a tragic "lack of understanding about the value [of] the Constitution and the protections it provides." He rightly notes that far too many young minds have been indoctrinated to view constitutional limits not as safeguards of freedom, but as "obstacles to progress" -- especially when those limits impede policies championed for groups perceived as "oppressed."

In a world where Muslims are widely portrayed by progressive narratives as a marginalized group, young Americans are apparently defaulting to a "sympathetic view of policies associated with Islam," Haskins explains. They do this, he warns, "without seriously considering whether those policies are compatible with constitutional freedoms." The bitter irony is lost on them: in their zeal to "help," they actively undermine the very rights they claim to cherish.

This deeply concerning trend isn't happening in a vacuum. It mirrors the chaos unfolding across France, where student protests have devolved into widespread destruction, fueled by a disturbing rise in support for Sharia law among young citizens. Tellingly, that support is driven by a growing Muslim population embracing stricter religious observance. And here at home, under the Biden administration's open border policies, the numbers speak for themselves: in December 2024 alone, Joe Biden's final month in office, refugee admissions from 45 majority-Muslim countries soared to 21,096. It doesn't take a genius to connect the dots: are we importing the very ideologies that threaten our constitutional republic?

The Our Republic poll lays bare an even more insidious truth: a willingness among American youth, raised in the bedrock of constitutionally protected rights, to abandon those very rights. They are sacrificing individual liberty and protection from authoritarianism, all in service to what Haskins calls "the oppressor-versus-oppressed framework associated with Critical Theory." This radical ideology, now pervasive in our educational institutions, is systematically dismantling the American worldview.

Further evidence of this ideological corrosion emerges from the same set of polls, which reveal a shocking suspicion of Israel. A staggering 46 percent of voters aged 18-24 and 60 percent of those 25-29 would support "completely dismantle[ing] Israel and replac[ing] it with a Palestinian-led nation" -- all in exchange for ending a war with Iran and supposedly lowering U.S. energy prices. This isn't just foreign policy naiveté; it's a chilling willingness to sacrifice a key American ally based on a skewed, anti-Western narrative.

Haskins clarifies that these young people aren't necessarily committed Islamists, nor do they see Sharia as an extension of religious liberty. Instead, he argues, their sympathy is driven by the perception of Muslims as "an oppressed or marginalized group." Within this toxic framework, "groups perceived as marginalized are often treated sympathetically without much scrutiny of what those groups or their belief systems actually teach." This intellectual surrender paves the way for dangerous alliances. The Palestinian and Communist flags proudly displayed at the French student protests are not random. They are the unmistakable banner of the "Red-Green Alliance" -- a dangerous coalition, as described by the Center for Renewing America, that binds "Marxism and Islamism" with a common, destructive mission: "to tear down the traditional American way of life."

That "traditional American way of life" is unequivocally rooted in the U.S. Constitution -- a document many young Americans, according to Haskins, neither fully grasp nor respect. The conflict with Sharia law is not merely theoretical. U.S. Representative Keith Self (R-Texas), co-founder of the Sharia-Free America Caucus with fellow Texas Republican Chip Roy, has meticulously detailed how Sharia is "incompatible with the Constitution." It aims to create "a parallel legal system" that would utterly overwrite the single, unifying legal standard meant for all American citizens. As Rep. Self powerfully states:

Sharia creates unequal legal standards by distinguishing between Muslims and non-Muslims, men and women, and believers and dissenters. These distinctions undermine constitutional protections and expose individuals to social or legal pressure that conflicts with American guarantees of freedom and equality. The United States cannot sustain parallel legal systems because the rule of law depends on one constitutional standard applying equally to every citizen.

While experts like Haskins express guarded optimism that America's youth aren't about to embrace radical Islam wholesale, this polling is a stark warning. It proves that a growing number of young Americans are committed to a dangerous "any-means-necessary" ideology aimed at righting perceived historical wrongs against "marginalized communities." If we genuinely wish to avert the fate of a burning France -- a nation collapsing under the weight of imported ideologies and internal division -- Americans must act. This isn't just a legislative battle; it's a cultural war that must be fought where our children are being taught -- in the very schools that are increasingly sacrificing American principles on the altar of "wokeness." The future of our Republic depends on rejecting these insidious ideologies and reaffirming the timeless strength of our Constitution and the America First values it upholds.
