Spencer Pratt Questions Delayed LA Vote Count After Mayoral Election Loss

Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt took aim at Los Angeles election officials Thursday over the delayed vote count in the city’s mayoral race, posting a short but pointed question as the final results remained unsettled.

“Are they done counting yet?” Pratt wrote on X.

Pratt has not conceded or formally challenged the outcome of the election, where he was defeated by Democratic Socialist-backed Los Angeles City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, who will advance to a November runoff against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.

The unusual political candidate was also seen Thursday with his wife, Heidi Montag, leaving Delgados restaurant in Carpenteria. When asked by a photographer whether he knew what happened in the race or whether he believed there was voter fraud, Pratt did not provide a direct answer, instead shrugging and raising his arms.

Pratt, who received an endorsement from President Donald Trump, surprised many observers by outperforming expectations on election night, reportedly leading Raman by several points before the final count shifted.

Raman has since built a sizable lead of more than 40,000 votes over Pratt, one week after the election. Since the race was called, Pratt has made only two other public comments. REUTERS

Following the results, Pratt posted an image of a lone duck floating calmly on the water during a sunset, a message that sparked speculation among supporters. The cryptic post led to comments comparing the image to phrases such as “sitting duck” and “like water off a duck’s back.”

The former television personality has not explained the meaning behind the image, but it arrived as supporters continued debating the outcome and what the future could hold for his political ambitions.

Pratt’s campaign represented one of the more unexpected developments in the Los Angeles mayoral race, turning a celebrity figure into a serious political contender. While critics dismissed his chances early on, his performance showed that voter frustration and outsider candidates can still shake up traditional political contests.

The election now moves toward the runoff stage, while Pratt’s brief but headline-grabbing campaign remains a reminder that in Los Angeles politics, even a reality TV star can become part of the conversation.
