Squad's Blunder: Far-Left Democrats Caught Red-Handed in Botched Attack on Jewish Colleague, Exposing Hypocrisy

The far-left 'Squad' in Congress recently delivered a masterclass in political self-sabotage, launching a confused and hypocritical attack on a moderate Jewish Democrat that swiftly unraveled, leaving them exposed and red-faced. What began as a brazen attempt to smear a colleague quickly devolved into an embarrassing display of ignorance and a stark revelation of their own contradictory votes.

The intra-party clash ignited after New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer, a moderate Democrat, courageously called out the creeping influence of democratic socialists within his own party. "The DSA are not Democrats. They’re socialists, who want to hijack the Democratic Party," he declared on X, adding, "The Democrats have a big tent. That’s our strength. We embrace a range of ideas — but there’s no room for anti-American bomb-throwers who oppose our ideas, values, & leaders."

Enter Pennsylvania Representative Summer Lee, a prominent 'Squad' member, who chose to respond with a bizarre accusation. Lee accused Gottheimer of being among the Democrats who "sign bombs and vote to drop them," seemingly confusing him with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Governor Shapiro, a different Jewish Democrat, had indeed signed an artillery shell bound for Ukraine during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s 2024 visit, but Gottheimer had no part in that particular photo opportunity.

Gottheimer, quick to expose the gaffe, shot back with a pointed, "You know that’s the other Jewish guy named Josh, right?" — a simple question that underscored the 'Squad’s' apparent inability to distinguish between their own colleagues, or perhaps their casual disregard for accuracy.

Not one to let a fellow 'Squad' member flounder alone, Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar then jumped into the fray, attempting to defend Lee while compounding the error. Omar reiterated that Shapiro had signed "the bombs you voted to be dropped," seemingly implying Gottheimer had somehow voted to sign a bomb, rather than understanding the legislative process for aid packages.

But the 'Squad’s' attempt to manufacture outrage against Gottheimer spectacularly backfired. With a single, devastating screenshot of an official House Roll Call, Gottheimer revealed the undeniable truth: both Lee and Omar themselves had voted for the very $60.8 billion Ukraine aid package in April 2024, the one that ultimately facilitated the artillery shell signing. "Ilhan, you know who else voted for it?" Gottheimer quipped, "You." And there it was — the 'Squad' caught red-handed, voting for the very action they tried to use as a weapon against a fellow Democrat.

This embarrassing exchange is not an isolated incident but rather another symptom of a deeper, troubling divide within the Democratic Party, particularly on the critical issue of antisemitism. Gottheimer has repeatedly called out what he describes as a "glaring double standard," where antisemitism from the political right is rightfully condemned, yet instances emerging from the far-left are often met with deafening silence or even tacit acceptance by too many in leadership.

The 'Squad’s' voting record further solidifies their anti-Israel stance, a position increasingly at odds with traditional Democratic support for America’s key ally in the Middle East. Lee and Omar were among 103 Democrats who recently voted for a failed amendment that would have prohibited funds from being used for Israel and slashed foreign military financing by $3.3 billion – a move staunchly opposed by Gottheimer and other pro-Israel voices. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangerous isolationist and anti-ally agenda being pushed by the far-left, weakening America’s standing and undermining its commitments abroad.

The spectacle of the 'Squad' flailing in their ill-conceived attacks, only to be hoist by their own legislative petard, highlights a concerning trend. Their ideological purity tests and often fact-free rhetoric not only sow division within their own party but also expose a profound lack of seriousness on critical issues. For many Americans, this episode is a clear demonstration that the 'Squad’s' radical agenda is less about serving the nation and more about performative politics, consistently failing the common-sense test and eroding public trust.
