A violent stabbing attack outside a Swiss train station on Thursday is being investigated as an alleged act of terror after authorities say a man stabbed three people before reportedly shouting “Allahu Akbar.”
According to Zurich police, the suspect is a 31-year-old dual Swiss-Turk national who allegedly attacked three men with a bladed weapon in front of a class of children near the station, creating panic and chaos in the area.
After the attack, the suspect reportedly fled the scene while still armed before being arrested just five minutes after emergency services were alerted, regional police chief Marius Weyermann told The Associated Press.
Authorities are now treating the incident as an “act of terror,” adding to growing concerns across Europe about violent extremist attacks targeting civilians in public spaces. Sadly, Europeans are becoming far too familiar with these horrifying scenes while politicians continue pretending weak border policies and failed integration strategies have nothing to do with it.
