Trump Delivers $10 Billion Defense Investment, Igniting Jobs and American Strength in Key State

Yesterday, President Donald Trump announced a colossal nearly $10 billion in new investments into America’s vital defense industry right here in Pennsylvania on Wednesday afternoon. The announcement, made at Senator Dave McCormick’s (R-PA) Defense and Innovation Summit, signals a renewed commitment to American manufacturing, jobs, and national security.

Arriving at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, President Trump joined Senator McCormick, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and a lineup of top defense, banking, and technology executives for a pivotal roundtable event where the groundbreaking announcement unfolded.

“This afternoon, we’re announcing nearly $10 billion of new investments in our defense industrial base, right here in the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and these investments will create more than 4,000 jobs,” President Trump declared, underscoring the direct impact on working American families.

He continued, painting a clear vision for American might: “Pennsylvania workers will build the ships, submarines, trucks, weapons, and industries that will ensure America remains the strongest and most powerful nation in the history of the world. We’re doing better now than we’ve ever done.”

Among these significant infusions of capital is a $2.5 billion agreement between industrial giant General Dynamics and Rhoades Industries, specifically earmarked to bolster Navy submarine construction in Philadelphia. Additionally, new ship orders for the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) program are set to support over 2,000 jobs, with project costs valued at $1.5 billion, further cementing America’s maritime dominance.

Another major commitment sees Day & Zimmermann receiving a substantial “$2.3 billion contract to provide operations, maintenance, and modernization for the Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada, delivered from its Philadelphia operations.” These strategic investments are a testament to President Trump’s America First agenda, focusing on domestic production and high-paying jobs.

President Trump highlighted that defense spending in Pennsylvania has seen an impressive surge of approximately 20-25 percent since his return to the presidency. With Wednesday’s announcement factored in, he anticipates that figure will soar to an astounding $19-$20 billion, showcasing a remarkable economic revival driven by his policies.

Looking nationally, the President proudly touted that his administration has overseen an unprecedented $19.2 trillion in investments across the United States since his return to office in January 2025. This massive influx of capital proves that when America puts its own citizens and industries first, prosperity follows.

“We used to go million, then we went billion. Now we’re into the trillions. But there’s never been anything like it. The country is as hot as it’s ever been,” Trump asserted, a clear message that American exceptionalism is back under his leadership.

President Trump reserved high praise for Senator McCormick, acknowledging his crucial role in organizing the successful summit. He also recalled attending McCormick’s Energy and Innovation Summit last July at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where an astonishing $92 billion in investment for the Keystone State was announced.

“Outstanding work on behalf of the incredible people of Pennsylvania,” Trump told McCormick, who was elected in 2024 and proved pivotal in helping Republicans reclaim the U.S. Senate majority. “He followed me along the campaign trail, and he had a tough race. It was a tough race. A lot of people wouldn’t have had the courage to do it. It takes guts to run for office. People don’t know that.”

President Trump added, “I think he’s a great guy, great, spectacular guy… But we’re here today to celebrate a colossal victory for this Commonwealth and for the entire nation.” This powerful alliance between President Trump and strong conservative leaders like Senator McCormick is precisely what America needs to thrive.

Senator McCormick, in turn, expressed his gratitude, telling the President, “We are so honored to have you here. I know you’ve got a special love for Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania has a special love for you. And this is all about your vision of peace through strength.” It's a vision that puts American power and prosperity at the forefront, rejecting globalist compromises for a future of true national sovereignty and economic might.
