Jack Smith is the special counsel at the Department of Justice who is currently pushing forward several indictments against former President Donald Trump. And while most of the country’s attention has been laser-focused on Mr. Smith’s most recent Jan. 6-related indictment, there was actually a shocking development in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
Three days ago, Mr. Smith’s team had to admit to a federal judge that they had actually made false statements in court during their case against Mr. Trump. Within the pages of this document, the Justice Department prosecutors acknowledged that despite what they told the court, they had actually failed to turn over all evidence to Mr. Trump’s legal team as is required by federal law.
