Trump Threatens to Strike Iran's Heavily Fortified "Pickaxe Mountain" Nuclear Site

President Donald Trump issued a direct warning to Iran on Monday, stating that the United States is prepared to strike the regime’s deeply buried nuclear facility known as Pickaxe Mountain.

Speaking on the Hugh Hewitt Show, Trump said:

“We’re going to take out Pickaxe Mountain. Tell the Iranians to be ready.”

He added that the U.S. is closely monitoring the site and suggested action could come relatively soon:

“We’re watching Pickaxe Mountain closely. We see no activity there… But we’ll probably give Pickaxe a shot relatively soon.”

Pickaxe Mountain (also known as Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La), located near the heavily damaged Natanz uranium enrichment complex, is one of Iran’s most fortified underground sites. It consists of deeply buried tunnel complexes carved into granite, believed by many experts to be beyond the reach of even the most powerful U.S. bunker-buster bombs.

The comments come as the Trump administration continues sustained military pressure on Iran, including multiple rounds of strikes on Revolutionary Guard targets and naval assets, following Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that the U.S. will not allow Iran to reconstitute its nuclear program at hardened, hidden locations.

The threat against Pickaxe Mountain underscores the administration’s determination to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapons capability in facilities that are difficult to destroy from the air.
