Trump Warns U.S. Will Take Control of Key Iranian Oil Hub, Promises More Strikes

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the United States will soon take control of Kharg Island, the strategic facility responsible for processing approximately 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports, as military operations against the Islamic Republic continue to escalate.

The statement came after a second consecutive day of U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure. Trump delivered the warning through a post on Truth Social, signaling that additional military action was imminent.

“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote.

Kharg Island plays a critical role in Iran’s economy, serving as the primary hub for the nation’s oil exports. Any move affecting the facility would represent a significant escalation in efforts to pressure Tehran and limit the regime’s ability to generate revenue from global energy markets.

Trump’s remarks suggest the administration believes recent military operations have severely weakened Iran’s defensive capabilities. The president’s comments also indicate that the United States intends to maintain pressure until its strategic objectives are achieved.

For years, Iran’s leadership relied on oil revenues while projecting military strength throughout the region. Now, according to Trump, much of that military infrastructure has been severely degraded as U.S. forces continue their campaign. It is a remarkable turnaround for a regime that frequently promised it would stand firm against any American pressure.

As military operations continue, the administration is signaling that it remains committed to a position of strength. Supporters argue that decisive action against hostile regimes can create leverage for future negotiations while protecting American interests and regional stability.
