On Monday, it was announced that Tucker Carlson will be leaving Fox News with the host’s final show being last Friday, April 21st. In response to the news, conservatives looked back on Carlson’s final moments on air saying, “I can’t think of a better way for the greatest cable news show in history to end.”
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox continued in its statement. “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
The Fox News host, who dominated cable television for years, held his final segment on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ by enjoying pizza with a pizza delivery driver, Tyler Morrell, whom he had previously interviewed.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the Pennsylvania delivery man stopped a suspect dead in his tracks following a police pursuit by tripping the escapee while he was delivering a pizza last week.
Carlson snacked down on a sausage and pineapple pizza as he laughed with his guest. The two discussed Morrell’s takedown of the thief.
“What a great way to end the week,” Carlson said. “That’s it for us for the week. We’ll be back!”
“We’ll be back on Monday. In the meantime have the best weekend with the ones that you love and we’ll see you then,” Carlson said in his final words to the Fox audience.
“This was Tucker Carlson Tonight’s last moment,” wrote Greg Price on Twitter. “Eating pizza with the hero delivery man who stopped a car jacker. I can’t think of a better way for the greatest cable news show in history to end.”
