Wisconsin Democrats' Desperate Pick for Governor Hits 'Platneresque' Scandal as Hidden Past Unravels

The Democrat Party, always keen to preach about accountability and transparency, finds itself once again tangled in a web of its own making – a self-inflicted political wound so predictable it’s almost comical. Just when Wisconsin Democrats thought they could orchestrate their way out of a primary disaster, their handpicked candidate’s past has come roaring back, exposing a 'Platneresque' level of hypocrisy and desperation.

This isn't an isolated incident, of course. Who can forget the swift, unceremonious ousting of then-President Joe Biden after his disastrous June 2024 debate? The party "leaders" quickly cleared the field for Kamala Harris, only for her to suffer a resounding defeat against President Donald Trump. Then there was Graham Platner, the Maine Senate primary victor whose Teflon exterior finally cracked under the weight of mounting allegations, forcing him to suspend his campaign despite being chosen by voters. Platner's sordid internet history, filled with misogyny, racism, and disturbing comments, served as a stark warning about the kind of character the establishment often overlooks until it's too late.

Now, the Badger State faces its own iteration of this familiar script. Wisconsin Democrats, in a panic over the rising popularity of DSA state Rep. Francesca Hong – deemed too radical to face Trump-backed GOP presumptive nominee Tom Tiffany – desperately coaxed Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley back into the gubernatorial race. Crowley was meant to be their "electable" savior, a safe bet against both the surging socialist and the "too progressive" former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, whose own campaign has faced questions.

But the carefully laid plans of the Democrat establishment have, predictably, gone sideways. A trove of highly offensive posts from a burner social media account, reportedly dating back a decade and a half, has surfaced. The content includes vulgar remarks and denigrating comments, painting a picture disturbingly similar to the Platner debacle.

In a move that strains credulity, Crowley and his campaign are vehemently denying his authorship of the posts, claiming he merely had "access" to the account. This defense, however, immediately crumbled under scrutiny.

NBC News cast significant doubt on these denials, reporting that the account explicitly referred to Crowley in the first person, featured his selfie, and included his initials. According to NBC, the account even declared, "this is my twitter page where I loosen up the tie and bring out the bottles!! Ya dig!" and stated, "I can’t really have my face out there when i’m representing #DWightman!!" Such specific, personal details make the claim of multiple, anonymous users highly suspect.

Further underscoring the disingenuous denial, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel highlighted the account’s bio: "A different side of me…" — hardly the description of a shared account managed by "10-12 people." The account, still active, reportedly contains other embarrassing gems, like the one shown here:

The campaign's insistence that these posts are from "a decade and a half ago" is a telling attempt to dismiss their current relevance. It's the classic "I was young and foolish" defense, yet Crowley was a grown man in his early to mid-20s when these disturbing remarks were allegedly made. That excuse won't easily fly with Wisconsin voters who are looking for genuine accountability, not convenient amnesia.

The timing couldn't be worse for a party already struggling with internal divisions and a looming gubernatorial debate. This latest scandal throws the Wisconsin Democrat primary into further chaos, highlighting the sharp contrast with the disciplined, America First approach championed by President Trump and strong conservative leaders like GOP Rep. Tom Tiffany.

This debacle is yet another glaring example of the Democrat Party’s ongoing struggle with public trust and their willingness to sacrifice integrity for perceived electability. Americans deserve leaders who are forthright, accountable, and whose pasts align with the values they claim to champion. The consistent pattern of scandal, denial, and desperation within the Democrat ranks only further solidifies the urgent need for America First principles that prioritize common sense, transparency, and true leadership.
