Macklemore, whose given name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, wasted no time in bellowing slogans like "Free Palestine" and accusing Israel of "genocide" in Gaza from the stage. This was not a nuanced discussion or a call for peace, but a full-throated, one-sided political assault.
"I wanted to stand up here on stages across America and say two words that are near and dear to my heart: Free Palestine," the "Thrift Shop" singer declared to an audience that clearly wasn't there for a political sermon.
