The Department of Homeland Security released yet another sobering report detailing arrests of what it bluntly calls the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens taken into custody across the country over the weekend—and the list is every bit as disturbing as you’d expect.
According to DHS, more than a dozen illegal migrants convicted of some of the most heinous crimes imaginable were arrested, including murder, child sex offenses, voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, and gang-related violence.
And this is happening while federal agents are under siege.
“Even while facing a 1,300% increase in assaults, a 3,200% increase in vehicular attacks, and an 8,000% increase in death threats against them, ICE continues to risk their lives to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens who have terrorized American families,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“While Americans enjoyed their weekends, ICE law enforcement arrested murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members from across the country. We will not let agitators slow us down from making America safe again and getting these heinous criminals out of our country,” she added.
Just a Sample of Who Was Arrested
Among those taken into custody over the weekend:
-
Nelson Ayala-Gomez, an illegal alien from El Salvador, convicted of murder in Harris County, Texas.
-
Alfredo Murillo-Fernandez, an illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of four counts of indecent liberties with a child in Union County, North Carolina.
-
Diego Cardona, an illegal alien from Guatemala and 18th Street gang member, convicted of voluntary manslaughter in Los Angeles.
-
Oscar Miguel Argueta-Del Cid, an illegal alien from El Salvador, convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in Maryland.
-
Ai Sommay, an illegal alien from Laos, convicted of a lewd act upon a child in San Diego.
-
Jorge Luis Archaga-Ordonez, an illegal alien from Honduras, convicted of online solicitation of a minor in Texas.
-
Hedayatullah Khogyani, an illegal alien from Afghanistan, convicted of assault causing great bodily injury and mayhem in California.
And that’s just part of the list.
Other arrests included convictions for robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, identity theft, methamphetamine trafficking, and even alien smuggling—all individuals who, at some point, were allowed to remain in or reenter the United States.
Law Enforcement Under Attack—And Still Doing the Job
DHS also used the report to recognize Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9, honoring the thousands of officers and agents who continue doing their jobs despite unprecedented hostility.
“With more than 80,000 officers and agents, our Department is the largest law enforcement agency in the federal government,” Secretary Kristi Noem said. “President Trump and I will always stand with you.”
She encouraged Americans to thank law enforcement officers in simple ways—whether by buying them a cup of coffee or simply expressing gratitude.
The Reality the Media Won’t Talk About
While activist groups and sympathetic politicians scream about “ICE oppression,” federal agents are quietly removing convicted killers, child predators, and violent criminals from American communities—often while being attacked, threatened, and demonized for doing so.
DHS reaffirmed its support for law enforcement, emphasizing that these officers represent the highest ideals of duty and sacrifice, and that their work directly translates into safer neighborhoods for American families.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer: chaos from agitators on one side, and law enforcement on the other—doing the hard, dangerous work necessary to keep the country secure.
