"F---ING IDIOTS": Top Democrats Turn on Their Own as Rape Allegation Torches Senate Campaign

The Democrat Party’s carefully constructed façade of moral superiority crumbled this week, exposing deep hypocrisy and utter incompetence as a bombshell rape allegation against Maine Senate nominee Graham Platner sent top party operatives into an unvarnished rage.

Neera Tanden, CEO of the left-leaning Center for American Progress and a fixture in Biden-Obama circles, joined prominent gun-control advocate Shannon Watts in a blistering attack on fellow Democrats who, in their view, willfully ignored a mountain of red flags surrounding Platner.

Tanden, who has voiced concerns about Platner for months, didn't mince words about the party’s vetting failures. "I will remain incredibly angry at the people who didn’t vet this candidate," Tanden stated, adding that party figures needed to "show a lot more courage" than they have to date.

Her frustration boils over as the Maine Democrat nominee, Graham Platner, has faced a litany of disturbing allegations, including displaying a Nazi tattoo, making controversial online comments about race, and engaging in relational infidelity. But the latest revelation, a harrowing rape allegation, has pushed the party to a breaking point.

Politico first reported the explosive claim that Platner allegedly raped a former girlfriend, Jenny Racicot, in 2021 while he was heavily intoxicated and she had repeatedly told him to stop. Racicot later appeared on CNN, telling host Jake Tapper that "by dictionary definition" Platner had indeed "raped" her.

Racicot recounted, "I thought, here's a man who was drunk and who, by dictionary definition, raped me. And he's blaming drunk women." She further questioned why such a concerning "issue" seems "scattered throughout their life, throughout their commentary" when referring to Platner’s alleged behavior.

Platner, predictably, has denied the allegations, dismissing them as "troubling, serious, and false." In a video posted shortly after the Politico story broke, Platner reaffirmed his denial, stating he would "reflect" on the "best path forward" for his "movement" and the goal of "defeating Susan Collins." An interesting set of priorities, to say the least.

Shannon Watts, meanwhile, unleashed a ferocious tirade against party leaders, shouting in an X post, "MAYBE LISTEN TO WOMEN IN THE PARTY YOU F------ IDIOTS!!!!" Her fury was aimed squarely at prominent Democrats who had endorsed Platner despite the glaring warning signs.

Watts specifically called out Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representative Ruben Gallego, Senator Martin Heinrich, and Representative Ro Khanna, demanding to know why they backed a candidate with a "Totenkopf tattoo" and "accusations of domestic assault," not to mention his "bigoted, racist and sexist things online."

As the Maine Democratic Party scrambles, now calling on Platner to step aside, the internal infighting quickly shifted to who might replace him. And here, the Democrat establishment's penchant for poor judgment continued to shine.

Watts fiercely pushed back against any notion of Senator Bernie Sanders — whom she dubbed "the worst judge of character in history" — handpicking a replacement, particularly after he allegedly "forced" Platner onto the party, likely jeopardizing a crucial Senate seat.

Watts didn't hold back, accusing Sanders of trying to "hold us hostage until we pick his other sh---- candidate," a clear reference to Troy Jackson, another progressive in the state who also faces allegations of a physical altercation with a female colleague. "So no, we’re not going to pick this f------ guy," Watts declared.

Tanden echoed Watts’s skepticism regarding an establishment-selected replacement, suggesting a more "democratic" approach would be to consider a candidate who had already garnered significant public support in the governor's race. She also took a thinly veiled shot at Ro Khanna, who had championed Jackson, for offering advice on the "right path for the future" after being part of "the people who got us into this mess." Because, of course, the same people who create the problem are always the first to offer the "solution."

The political fallout has been swift and severe. Notably, Senator Sanders, after initially remaining quiet, has now dropped his endorsement of Platner and publicly called for his withdrawal from the race. Representative Khanna and several other high-profile Democrats have also rescinded their endorsements, a clear sign that the party’s attempts to sweep Platner’s troubling history under the rug have definitively failed.

Dems flee Graham Platner campaign after new allegations

This latest Democrat scandal serves as a stark reminder of what happens when political ambition overrides basic common sense, accountability, and a genuine concern for the public trust. While the left often preaches about "believing women" and "listening to marginalized voices," their actions here reveal a desperate scramble for power, willing to sacrifice any principle when it serves their electoral agenda. American voters deserve far better than these cynical political games; they deserve leaders who uphold true American values, not those who enable alleged abusers and then feign shock when their house of cards collapses.
