Prosecutors detailed how the duo shamelessly helped operate a fraudulent child nutrition site under the umbrella of Feeding Our Future, fabricating claims of feeding thousands of children daily across the Twin Cities.
These fraudsters managed to extract $7.3 million in COVID relief funds. Instead of nourishing young Americans, the money funded lavish lifestyles, including purchasing cars, acquiring property, and distributing illicit cash to a Feeding Our Future insider.
Beyond their prison terms, both men were ordered to pay substantial restitution, with Ahmed facing a bill of $2,242,590 and Ghedi on the hook for $2,862,451. A small measure of justice for the taxpayers they so willingly defrauded.
