Anthony Fauci’s personal diary from the pandemic years—the one Xavier Becerra’s HHS allegedly stuffed in a drawer and pretended didn’t exist—is, according to Comer, “the most damning evidence” that the nation’s former favorite doctor misled the public and buried the truth about where the virus actually came from.

They subpoenaed everything. One hundred percent of the Fauci paper trail. What they got was the bureaucratic equivalent of a shrug. The diary stayed hidden. The government cellphone stayed hidden. Comer has now sent Becerra—currently running for California governor like the past never happened—a letter demanding answers by September 2. Good luck with that.

Fauci already took the Fifth more than a hundred times in front of the Senate. Biden’s parting gift of a presidential pardon keeps the feds off his back, but state attorneys general in Florida, West Virginia, and Louisiana are still circling. His lawyers have even set up a defense fund. For a retired civil servant, the legal barrage is starting to look less like politics and more like accountability finally showing up late to the party.

The diary is still out there. The questions haven’t gone away. And Comer isn’t done digging.
