Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched multiple ballistic missiles Tuesday in an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces in the Middle East. U.S. Central Command confirmed that all Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted, with American forces remaining at a high state of readiness.

The brazen attack came as CENTCOM and Saudi Arabian forces conducted joint precision strikes in eastern Iraq against Iran-aligned terrorists directed by the IRGC. The operation targeted logistics and weapons sites in response to over 30 IRGC-directed drone attacks in the previous 72 hours.

“U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple terrorist logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq in a strong response,” CENTCOM stated. The command warned that the IRGC and its proxies “must cease these attacks to avoid further U.S. military response.”

From February through April 2026 alone, Iran-aligned militias carried out more than 600 attempted attacks on U.S. citizens and facilities in Iraq. The latest actions demonstrate a coordinated effort by Washington and Riyadh to counter Tehran’s proxy network and protect regional stability.

These developments come amid ongoing U.S. pressure on Iran, including strikes aimed at degrading its military capabilities and securing the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s latest missile barrage shows the regime continues to test American resolve, even as diplomatic channels remain open.

The Trump administration has made clear it will not tolerate attacks on U.S. forces or allies. Joint operations with partners like Saudi Arabia send a powerful message: aggression by Iran or its proxies will be met with swift and decisive retaliation. 

The regime in Tehran is playing a dangerous game. Each failed attack only strengthens the case for sustained pressure until Iran ends its destabilizing behavior.
