Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, was seen on the balcony at the White House during the fireworks display on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The younger Biden has been in the headlines recently after allegations by IRS whistleblowers that criminal investigations into the first son have been tampered with.
Hunter Biden was seen on the balcony with his wife, Melissa Cohen, his daughter Finnegan Biden, and his son Beau Biden. Also present on the balcony were President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden.

The president’s son traveled with his father to Camp David for a second consecutive weekend before returning to the White House on Tuesday. The president hosted an Independence Day barbecue with military families on the South Lawn of the executive mansion.
Hunter Biden’s travels with his father come after it was announced he would enter a plea deal related to two charges regarding failure to pay federal income tax. The investigation into Hunter Biden by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, which produced those charges, has come under increased scrutiny after IRS whistleblowers came forward to allege that Weiss was blocked from bringing various other charges against the president’s son.

Hunter Biden’s appearance with two of his children also comes less than a week after it was announced he had the child support case involving his daughter with Lunden Roberts closed after reaching a settlement. The settlement has Hunter Biden agreeing to pay an undisclosed amount of child support, while Roberts has dropped her bid to have her child carry the “Biden” last name.
The filing also revealed that neither Hunter nor Joe Biden have contacted or seen the 4-year-old. Joe Biden has regularly said he has six grandchildren despite him having seven, with the president leaving out the daughter of Roberts and Hunter Biden.
The event at the White House also came after staff at the executive mansion found an “unknown item” that initially tested positive for cocaine. The substance was found in the West Wing, where some offices for the executive branch are located.
