California Governor Gavin Newsom, a perennial spotlight chaser with clear presidential ambitions, has once again demonstrated where his true priorities lie: anywhere but the state he ostensibly governs. While Californians grapple with soaring gas prices and an insurmountable housing crisis, Governor Newsom has jetted off to Michigan, not to address his constituents' pressing needs, but to stump for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.

This pattern of neglect is hardly new. Newsom has repeatedly opted for highly publicized tours of red states to lecture and troll governors who, ironically, often boast far better governance records than his own. His preference for podcast appearances over tangible solutions for California’s economic woes speaks volumes. Now, his latest venture sees him backing Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, hailed by the radical Left as a new hero, because of course he is. One must wonder how this political grandstanding benefits young Californians, many of whom face a bleak future with no hope of ever affording a home in their own state.

Abdul El-Sayed, in his brief time in the national spotlight, has quickly established himself as one of the most extreme leftists to emerge in American politics. His agenda reportedly includes antisemitism, Marxism, and even alleged sympathy for terrorists. Yet, for Governor Newsom, El-Sayed "gets it."

Gets what, precisely? The embrace of radical ideology and the undermining of American values? According to a C-SPAN broadcast, when asked directly about meeting with El-Sayed, Newsom confirmed, "I’ll be meeting with him tomorrow." He continued, outlining his strategic support for the radical candidate: "The Senate is in play, and it will go through this state. Getting behind him is going to be important. That’s going to require not just the party here, but support outside of Michigan."

When pressed on why he would align himself with such a divisive and openly vicious politician, Newsom's response was nothing short of ludicrous. He asserted, without a hint of irony, that it was "about unity," adding, "My observation is he seems to be moving at a pretty impressive clip. It’s about unity, and these larger/smaller events, including the ones we’ll have tomorrow, are indicative of someone who gets it."

If "getting it" means adopting the disastrous policies that have plagued California under Newsom’s leadership, then Michiganders should brace for a painful descent into ruin. Should El-Sayed win, residents and businesses can expect an exodus from the state, skyrocketing taxes, and an administration obsessed with extremist social and gender issues. It seems, then, that if anyone truly "gets" the blueprint for progressive failure, it is indeed Gavin Newsom.

This political partnership between Newsom and El-Sayed is more than just a campaign stop; it's a stark reminder of the radical agenda the Left seeks to impose nationwide. It underscores the urgent need for common sense, accountability, and the protection of American values against a tide of extremism that threatens to dismantle the very foundations of our republic.
