Trump Calls Out ‘Evil’ Iranian Leadership After Key Figures Taken Out in Strikes

President Donald Trump responded forcefully after Israel reported eliminating two senior Iranian officials in airstrikes, making it clear he sees the regime for what it is—an “evil group” responsible for widespread violence.

Speaking at a White House event alongside Ireland’s Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Trump pointed to the removal of key leaders within Iran’s power structure, noting that one of the regime’s top figures was reportedly killed along with another individual tied to mass killings.

According to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, those eliminated were Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Basij force. These weren’t symbolic targets—they were central figures in maintaining control and carrying out the regime’s agenda.

Larijani had risen to become one of the most powerful figures in Iran after the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier in the conflict. Meanwhile, Soleimani led the Basij, a paramilitary force widely used to suppress internal dissent—because in that system, opposing the government tends to come with consequences.

Trump didn’t hold back when describing their roles, stating that one of the eliminated figures was responsible for the killing of tens of thousands of people in a short period. He emphasized that the regime’s violence extends far beyond those numbers, reinforcing his view that Iran’s leadership has a long track record of brutality.

The strikes mark a significant escalation, delivering a major blow to Iran’s leadership as tensions in the region continue to rise. In response, Iran launched new waves of missiles and drones targeting Israel and neighboring Gulf countries—staying consistent with its pattern of escalation.

Still, the removal of high-ranking officials tied to repression and violence sends a clear message. It shows that those responsible for instability and terror are not untouchable.

At a time of increasing global uncertainty, decisive action and strong leadership continue to play a critical role. And as this situation unfolds, one thing remains evident: confronting threats head-on is essential to maintaining security and stability.
