Trump honors fallen heroes of Operation Epic Fury during Memorial Day address

President Donald Trump delivered a powerful Memorial Day address at Arlington National Cemetery honoring the 13 American service members who gave their lives during Operation Epic Fury, the joint U.S.-Israel military campaign launched against Iran earlier this year.

Standing before Gold Star families and military leaders, Trump praised the fallen troops as patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice to stop the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining nuclear weapons.

“These incredible men and women gave their lives to ensure that the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terror will never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump declared. “Oh, and they won’t. They will never have a nuclear weapon.”

The president specifically honored Air Force Maj. Ariana Savino, who died during an Epic Fury mission in Iraq. Speaking directly to her family during the ceremony, Trump vowed that her sacrifice would never be forgotten.

“Our debt to you is everlasting, and it’s always going to end in victory,” the president said. “We’re having victories all over the place, more than we’ve had in many, many decades.”

The emotional ceremony came as negotiations continue over a possible agreement aimed at ending the conflict with Iran following months of intense military operations. Operation Epic Fury began on February 28 as a coordinated U.S.-Israeli campaign targeting Iran’s missile capabilities, naval assets, proxy terror networks, and nuclear infrastructure.

Trump used the occasion not only to honor the fallen but also to reinforce his long-standing position that Iran can never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons — a position that has remained central to his foreign policy for years.

Unlike previous administrations that relied heavily on weak diplomatic agreements and endless concessions, the Trump administration framed Operation Epic Fury as a “peace through strength” campaign designed to force Iran back to the negotiating table through overwhelming military pressure.

The president also highlighted another recent operation involving Venezuela, calling the January raid that captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a “complete and total victory.”

“We’re working very closely with the Venezuela government right now,” Trump stated. “We took that over in one day, lost no one.”

Throughout the speech, Trump emphasized patriotism, American strength, and the unmatched sacrifice made by U.S. service members across generations.

“From 1776 to 2026, America has always stood as a great and moral cause,” Trump said while noting the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

He described American troops as “guardian angels” standing between civilization and barbarism, praising their courage and devotion to freedom in language that resonated deeply with the military families gathered at Arlington.

“Wherever the American soldier walks, wherever he fights, wherever he falls, he does it for the destiny of a nation like no other,” Trump declared.

The president’s remarks reflected a broader message that has defined much of his leadership style: America remains strongest when it leads with confidence, honors its warriors, and refuses to back down against hostile regimes that threaten global stability.

And for the families who lost loved ones during Operation Epic Fury, Trump made one thing unmistakably clear — their sacrifice mattered, their heroes will be remembered, and America will continue standing strong because of them.
