Trump Officially Launches ‘Trump Accounts’ for America’s Children, Declares: ‘The American Dream Starts Now’

President Donald Trump is putting a new America First initiative into action, officially launching Trump Accounts for American children and urging families to begin investing in the next generation's future.

The announcement came over the Fourth of July weekend, immediately following the nation's historic 250th Independence Day celebration, as the administration unveiled what it describes as a long-term investment in American families, financial independence, and economic opportunity.

According to the administration, more than 6 million Trump Accounts have already been created, while approximately 1.4 million newborns have received the program's $1,000 federal contribution. The benefit is available to children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, giving millions of young Americans a financial foundation from the very beginning of life.

Parents can open an account by completing IRS Form 4547, and contributions are not limited to immediate family members. Grandparents, employers, and certain nonprofit organizations may also contribute, allowing communities and families to help children build long-term savings over time.

Speaking at the official rollout, Trump celebrated the program as another investment in America's future.

"Today we're thrilled to officially launch the Trump Accounts, and we had some beautiful people and speeches and tremendous crowds," the president said.

The initiative reflects a broader philosophy that has defined much of Trump's economic agenda: empowering Americans through ownership, investment, and personal opportunity rather than expanding dependence on government. Supporters argue that helping children begin life with investment accounts encourages financial literacy, long-term planning, and wealth creation—principles they say strengthen families and the nation's economy alike.

The launch also arrives as the administration continues to emphasize policies aimed at boosting economic growth, expanding prosperity for working families, and restoring what Trump frequently describes as the promise of the American Dream.

For millions of eligible families, the program offers more than a government contribution. It represents an opportunity to begin building generational wealth from a child's earliest days. As America enters its next 250 years, the Trump administration is framing the initiative as a reminder that the nation's future is strongest when families are empowered to invest, save, and pass opportunity on to the next generation.
