As Democrats continue to wail and screech about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis, Portland, and beyond, the facts keep getting more inconvenient. The receipts are piling up, and they show something the Left would rather not admit: their outrage seems to come with a strange habit of defending some of the worst criminal elements operating in our communities. But sure—let’s pretend this is all about “compassion.”

Here’s the part they conveniently ignore. If blue-state “sanctuary” mayors and governors hadn’t deliberately abandoned their sworn duty to protect the public, and if ideologues like former President Joe Biden hadn’t flung open the southern border to virtually anyone who wanted to walk in, many of these ICE operations wouldn’t even be necessary. Actions have consequences—who knew?

On Saturday, Fox News’ Bill Melugin received a list from ICE detailing some of the most dangerous criminals captured so far during ongoing operations in Minnesota. We’re talking about hard-core villains—exactly the kind of people law enforcement exists to remove from the streets. And yet, somehow, ICE is the problem here. Amazing logic.

While the Portland police chief laments that two Tren de Aragua members were shot by ICE after attempting to run over officers with a vehicle, and while Democrat politicians rush to accuse ICE of murder over the death of Renee Good—despite the fact that she ignored lawful orders and drove a 4,000-pound SUV at an agent—this is who they’re actually rallying to protect. Context, apparently, is optional.

As already reported, Democrats have cranked their rhetoric up to 11, openly implying—or outright saying—that violence against ICE is justified. That sounds pretty “insurrectiony,” doesn’t it? Funny how that word only matters when it’s politically convenient.

So as you read their tearful, melodramatic statements, remember who’s at the center of this defense. The Left appears more focused on shielding vicious, predatory criminals than on keeping American streets safe. The good news? Voters are paying attention. And if history tells us anything, accountability tends to show up right on schedule—at the ballot box, this November and beyond.
