Dershowitz Says Full Epstein Files Will Clear Trump

Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax that President Donald Trump should welcome the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files — because, according to him, the complete record is likely to vindicate Trump and shut down politically driven narratives once and for all.

Dershowitz, who represented Epstein years ago, said on “Newsline” that full transparency is the only way to expose false claims that have circulated for years. Selective releases, he warned, allow political actors to twist the story to fit their agenda.

He said that when he faced false accusations himself, he immediately waived privacy because a full release “would prove that I was totally innocent.” He believes the same principle applies to Trump — the more complete the record, the more obvious the truth becomes.

Dershowitz noted that existing emails linked to the Epstein case already support his own account of events. “Once I defended Jeffrey Epstein, he hated me because he thought I got him a bad deal,” he said, explaining why Epstein himself had no loyalty to him.

But the real problem, Dershowitz argued, is the way information is being released in a one-sided, politically manipulative fashion.

“We’re seeing the names of people who are accused disclosed, but the names of the accusers are not disclosed,” he said. He stressed that while some accusers are genuine victims, others are not — and some have even made provably false claims. He reminded viewers that false accusations also create victims.

“Under our Constitution, we don’t have guilt by accusation,” Dershowitz said. He urged the media to stop labeling individuals as “victims” or “survivors” unless their claims are verified and truthful.

He said he hopes the full Epstein files are finally released so that every part of the story is exposed — including information that may clear those who were unfairly targeted.
A refreshing thought in an era where political operatives prefer curated leaks over truth.

Dershowitz also commented on internal disputes at the Heritage Foundation following President Kevin Roberts’ defense of an interview involving Nick Fuentes. He said the conservative movement should draw clear boundaries, just as William F. Buckley did decades ago. He argued that the Republican Party must remain focused and avoid fringe figures who distract from its mission.

Even with these concerns, Dershowitz emphasized that Republicans are still outperforming Democrats in one key area: “The Republicans, at least, aren’t electing vicious antisemites. Democrats are, that’s for sure.”

In short, Dershowitz believes the complete Epstein files will expose the truth, clear the innocent, and — despite the political noise — likely reinforce what Trump’s supporters have argued all along. A full release can only help bring real transparency, and that’s something Americans deserve.
