In a case that perfectly captures the Left’s favorite pastime—reckless accusations followed by stunning hypocrisy—a Washington leftist who repeatedly called President Donald Trump and his supporters “pedophiles” is now accused of trying to meet an 11-year-old girl for sex. Sometimes the irony really does speak for itself.
Police in Bremerton, Washington, say 44-year-old Houston Wade was arrested on December 17 after allegedly attempting to meet what he believed was an 11-year-old child. The Lynwood Times reported Friday that Wade previously taught Physics and Astronomy at Edmonds College until 2022.
According to law enforcement, Wade used a social media app to exchange messages with a “decoy” he thought was an 11-year-old girl. After allegedly agreeing to meet the “child” for sexual activities, police observed him at a hotel in Silverdale. Moral lectures online, hotel rooms offline—quite the contrast.
“Upon arriving at the agreed meeting location in Bremerton, Wade was arrested,” the Times reported. Officials executing a search warrant allegedly found condoms, bondage supplies, and adult novelty toys left in one of the hotel rooms. Details that don’t exactly help his case.
Video footage from the YouTube profile Lanvik shows officer body camera footage of the arrest, capturing the moment law enforcement surrounded Wade. A police dog can be heard barking as officers ordered him to put his hands up before he was handcuffed and searched.
In a statement to the court, Detective Brandon Smith said Wade allegedly committed the crime of communication with a minor for immoral purposes by knowingly communicating with someone he believed was an 11-year-old girl and using grooming techniques to describe various sex acts he hoped to perform at a future date.
Detective Smith further stated that Wade allegedly committed attempted rape of a child in the first degree by taking substantial steps to meet the minor. Those steps reportedly included driving from his residence in Bainbridge Island, renting a hotel room, setting up sex toys and bondage restraints, and arriving at East Park in Bremerton. He then allegedly instructed the person he believed was the child to meet him near the parking lot so he could transport her to the prepared hotel room.
The Times also noted that Wade is a leftist activist who has repeatedly accused Republicans and President Trump’s supporters of being pedophiles—an accusation that now looks less like concern and more like projection.
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Jail page, Wade remains in custody. He reportedly faces six charges, including commercial sex abuse of a minor, and if convicted, could face up to life in prison.
