Mastermind Behind $250 Million Minnesota Welfare Fraud Ordered to Forfeit Porsche, Luxury Items

Minnesota’s Feeding Our Future scandal just got a little more satisfying for taxpayers. Aimee Bock, the 44-year-old founder of the nonprofit at the center of a $250 million COVID-19 welfare fraud scheme, was ordered by a federal judge last week to give up the spoils of her corruption. That’s right—no more cruising in her Porsche Panamera or flashing diamond jewelry while ordinary Americans pay the bills.

Bock, along with dozens of mostly Somali co-conspirators, siphoned pandemic relief funds intended to feed needy children, turning a program meant to help Americans into their personal piggy bank. Convicted in March on charges of wire fraud, bribery, and conspiracy, she is still awaiting sentencing—but the judge didn’t wait to make sure she couldn’t enjoy her luxury purchases.

The court order, issued December 30, requires Bock to forfeit $5.2 million from her personal nonprofit bank accounts, a Louis Vuitton purse and backpack, a diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings, iPads and iPhones, and roughly 60 laptops. Apparently, generosity only counts when it’s directed at yourself.

Attorney General Pam Bondi highlighted that 57 people have now been convicted in connection to Feeding Our Future, with 78 charged overall—72 of them of Somali descent. Bondi also noted that some defendants funneled millions of taxpayer dollars overseas, all while enriching themselves here in the U.S. Prosecutors have recovered $75 million so far, though the total fraud could be as high as $400 million.

Citizen journalist Nick Shirley deserves a tip of the hat for helping expose the alleged widespread fraud being committed in Minnesota, reminding Americans that staying vigilant matters.

At the end of the day, justice is slowly catching up with the cheats—and while it’s far from perfect, at least taxpayers can rest easier knowing luxury cars and diamond necklaces don’t protect criminals from accountability. America first, always.
