Nolte: Let the ICE Agent’s Defamation Suits Against the Media and Democrats Begin

Just as Nick Sandmann successfully sued multiple media outlets for falsely smearing him as a racist, and just as President Trump has successfully taken on fake media for defamation, it’s time for the Minneapolis ICE agent—who was forced to kill a woman in a clear act of self-defense—to fight back in court. Every media outlet that labeled him a “murderer,” and every Democrat or activist who echoed that lie, should be answering for it under oath.

Multiple videos show this ICE agent had no choice. Renee Good, a left-wing, anti-ICE activist, aimed her SUV at him and hit the gas. That’s not “peaceful protest,” no matter how hard the talking heads try to spin it. That’s a lethal threat.

In fact, a video released Friday from a cell phone carried by the ICE agent himself proves it definitively. Case closed—unless, of course, you’re part of the outrage industry.

One word that matters here is “then,” because actions happened then consequences followed. Another word that should have mattered—but clearly didn’t for many—is “alleged.” A long list of public figures and media outlets skipped that basic standard and rushed straight to accusations.

Among those who publicly smeared the agent are Mark Hamill, Jon Cryer, Hillary Clinton, CNN, Rep. Ilhan Omar, ABC, The View and Sunny Hostin, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Senate candidate Seth Moulton, Sen. Tim Kaine, The Literary Hub, The Nation, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Will Bunch, Daily Kos, Rep. Dan Goldman, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Mehdi Hasan, Nina Turner, Chris Hayes and CBS, Eric Swalwell, Jasmine Crockett, Robert Reich, Oliver Larkin, Briahna Joy Gray, Brian Krassenstein, Jacob Crosse, Minneapolis City Council Member Jamison Whiting, Rep. Robert Garcia, and Tim Miller of The Bulwark. And yes, there are probably more.

There is only one real way to stop Democrats and media outlets from screaming “murder” in the obvious hope of sparking unrest: accountability. Defamation has consequences, and truth still matters.

The good news is that the facts are on the side of law enforcement—and ultimately, on the side of Americans who want safe streets and honest reporting. When lies are confronted head-on, justice has a way of restoring order.
