Several anti-ICE agitators were arrested Saturday night as a rowdy protest in Austin spiraled out of control—another reminder that these gatherings often stop being “peaceful” the moment law enforcement shows up to do its job.
Video from the scene shows Texas police charging into a chaotic crowd outside the J.J. Pickle Federal Building as protests entered a third day following the fatal shooting of activist mom Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Officers on bikes and on foot moved swiftly as demonstrators obstructed traffic and filled the area with shouting and disorder—because nothing says “justice” like shutting down streets and federal property.

At least three people were taken into custody, according to video and reports. As one protester was being cuffed, another could be heard yelling, “We’re with you,” a phrase that seems to echo at every protest, right up until the arrests start.
The unrest follows the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis after she allegedly drove her SUV at him during a heated confrontation. While Democrats and some local officials quickly labeled the shooting a “murder,” federal officials stated that Good “weaponized” her vehicle and classified her as a “domestic terrorist.”
Despite the chaos and political outrage, law enforcement continued to do what they are sworn to do: restore order and protect public safety. And as always, Americans can be confident that when the noise fades, the rule of law—and common sense—will prevail.
